How does Tox smooth lines and wrinkles?
Botulinum neurotoxin (like Botox or Jeuveau) relaxes your muscles, which smooths visible fine lines and wrinkles in your skin.

How does Tox work to prevent signs of aging?
Tox results continue to improve with time as the muscle groups are trained to relax, which means they can be started as preventative anti-aging measures. By preventing the skin from repeatedly folding with muscle movement, we can keep deep wrinkles from forming.

What are the side effects of Tox treatment?
Tox side effects are typically minimal and include bruising or, rarely, superficial infection. For this reason, we require you to be at least 2 weeks out from any major event before getting Tox injections. Rarely, the medication can temporarily affect unintended muscle groups of the face, causing asymmetry. It is important to have Tox injected by a trained medical provider and to carefully follow your post injection instructions to minimize this risk.

What about Clinical Treatments with Tox?

Tox injections into the masseter muscles in select patients is an effective treatment for teeth grinding/clenching and TMJ syndrome. Relaxing those muscles can relieve pain contributing to jaw pain, tension headaches, and chronic migraine.

Patients suffering from hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) of the palms, soles, and armpits can experience dramatic improvement with injections of dilute Tox over the affected areas. Tox inhibits sweat secretion and can improve quality of life for these patients by addressing a clinical issue that causes both physical and psychological consequences.

Ready to schedule your first Tox appointment? Here's what you can expect:

Prep: Expect to come to your appointment with a clean face and be prepared to remain upright for 4-6 hours after treatment. Please refrain from vigorous exercise for 6 hours after your treatment, and avoid alcohol 1-2 days both before and after to reduce increased risk of bruising.

Process: You will come in and discuss goals, processes, and a customized plan for your face. From there, your injector, Lindsay Lyall, PA-C, will guide you through the injection process.

The Results: Tox delivers results within 7-14 days, and is repeated on a 3–4-month basis to maintain these results.
